In with NH news. We finally closed on the property today. Apparently there’s a bad tick problem in NH this year, we must have picked 20+ off Ollie before we left the property. I’ll spray the yard for them tomorrow and will be replacing the decking on the front porch. I need to see if I can get the lawnmower he left there running. If not I’ll just use my trimmer and cut the grass. I also need to get the internet set up. One of the bedrooms definitely needs to be gutted down to the studs but one thing at a time. Redneck mobile home repair. Met the only neighbor who lives across the street today, real nice guy. So nice to have good neighbors.

Big day tomorrow. Will be taking pics as well.

Ticks are bad in NH this year.

Check yourself, too. Mr mm and I do a tick check every day and have gotten some off us. most are not attached yet but two had actually latched on.

You can get sprays to treat your clothes for the times you will be outside. That and DEET. DEET helps.

I hear that domesticated fowl are good for controlling ticks.

Congrats on closing on the house, SB.

And glad to see that you have a good neighbor! :)

Hope you can get that mower running. Stale gas is one of the most common issues, gumming up the carb and hoses. I’ve been through that a time or two myself. (not saying that’s what the problem is, but it is common).

Definitely get rid of those ticks.

Good news. During the possum slide earlier it was noted that possums eat thousands and thousads of ticks. Do possums live in NH?

Congratulations! Do you plan on living there part time or all the time? I can’t remember.

I hate ticks. One time I picked off one of my dogs what I thought was a big wad of gum. Nope a tick! 😲

Good luck.
Perhaps you would like to start a vanity thread if you want to talk about your new property and post photos.
