The “rods from God” idea was a bundle of telephone-pole sized (20 feet long, one foot in diameter) tungsten rods, dropped from orbit, reaching a speed of up to ten times the speed of sound.

One can go to usgs.gov, and look at the world's tremors. One will find that MOST of the world's quakes these days, and for the past year or two, occurred at a depth of 10.0 km.
Something about that depth, something about penetration depth of rods of God, something about depth of DUMBs, has gotta be incorrect.
