Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren said Thursday that her husband’s cocaine and firearms arrest was politically motivated.
The Democrat spoke briefly with reporters, claiming she had done nothing wrong and the police raid on her house and charges against her husband Timothy Granison were an attempt to discredit her reelection campaign.
“I find the timing of yesterday’s events, three weeks before early voting starts, to be highly suspicious,” Warren said, in her speech, which was posted by Rochester First.
“There’s nothing implicating me in these charges today, because I’ve done nothing wrong. I haven’t spoken to Tim since his arrest, and I’m not standing here to defend him.”
Granison, 42, was part of a drug operation that had been busted with two kilos of cocaine, three guns and more than $100,000, cops said. Police allegedly found about two ounces of coke and an unregistered gun at the house where Granison lives with the mayor Wednesday.

Her middle name must be Tiny.
You can take the thug out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the thug.
Maybe she’s made that she didn’t get her cut. Just asking.
She’s a crook in her own right. Doesn’t need her husband’s hobbies to earn her street creds.
She's been a disgusting mayor. The crime rate is waaaaaaay up.
And if you think she knows nothing....I got a bridge....
Except for Lovely's own felony campaign finance indictments.
It will require a forensic accountant to reconcile drug money from campaign finance fraud funds.
An honest one, anyway.
Then there are the income tax issues, both state and federal.
I wonder who the Warrens ran afoul of.
This has likely been going on for quite a whole, so why act now...
BTW, Madame Mayor, how’s that gun buy back program you announced on Tuesday going...?
ROTF!!
Check this out, from 2012. More on the mayor, her family, and her hubby, who at some point was or is still working for UPS and Catholic Charities...

John Jay College of Criminal Justice is part of the City University of New York, and it was referred to as Cop College because its graduates populate the NYPD and cops take night classes to earn promotion points.
My wife has family in Rochester (and Webster), one cousin and her husband worked for Kodak, another for Xerox, and their mother, my wife’s widowed aunt, worked in the Cafeteria at Xerox. Rochester took a huge hit with the demise of Kodak and Xerox. The perverse state politics, dominated by downstate (New York City area) have not been good to upstate, some of the prettiest country in the nation, with thoroughly decent people.
General Pickett, years after the war, asked about the failure of his eponymous charge, replied "I think the Yankees might have had something to do with it."
I think digital cameras, and digital scanners might have had something to do with it.
I’m a lifelong Upstater.
What’s been done to this state by decades of our pols is an atrocity.
And a cautionary tale for voters nationwide.
"Lovely" is perfectly capable of ruining her own reputation and career, at least if the campaign fraud indictments against her have any merit. Birds of a feather flock together.
The arrest isn’t about politics. At least not if he had that stuff in his possession. Cops will do what they are going to do. And that’s good.
The political part of this starts at the charging, trial, and sentencing.
IMHO, you win the thread.
And right under her nose, so to speak, and she never even knew he was committing felonies and putting lives in danger.
Amazing... I think if I was doing crack and selling it, I think Mrs. Deplorable would know. Do white wives (and wives who are different races married to Whites) have a Gene that tells them if their husband is doing ILLEGAL activities (like selling illegal drugs)?
Truly is unbelievable. Did she miss the multiple burner phones? Did she not wonder at the constant convoys of shady folks showing up for extremely brief “visits”? No suspicion of magically appearing wads of cash? I am not buying the BS she is selling. Just another didindunuffin.
