She is fortunate that she didn't cut herself with the hedge trimmers too.

“Heatherly”? She should mail her parents a (nonvenomous!) black snake.

I hate when snakes jump out of hedges at me.

Harmless snake. It was probably startled by the hedge trimmer. If somebody used a machine to cut through my house, I might bite them too.😂😂😂. What is even funnier is all the crap about what you should do if you find a snake on your property. If it’s a water moccasin, coral snake, copperhead or rattler, you have a problrm. Otherwise, IGNORE it.

We have lots of copperhead here in NC. I see them all the time.

Last week my dog was bitten by one and had to go to the vet.

A few years ago my wife stepped on one in the carport at night and it nailed her in the ankle. She drove to the hospital immediately and got a copperhead anti-venom shot. It cost $25,000! The insurance paid $12,000+.

Copperheads freeze rather than flee, and they blend in so good that they often get stepped on. Then they bite in self defense.

I carry a 4’ snake rod in my vehicle and use it several times a year. Local groups relocate them away from populated areas.

sorry, I’ve been there. I’d like to say that I manfully cut that sucker in half with the hedge clippers when I found myself eyeball to eyeball with a snake perched in my hollies.

nope. I departed the area with great alacrity, abandoning the hedge clippers to their fate. my wife said I also screamed like a girl, but I doubt her version of events. she was doubled over laughing for quite some time afterwards. I suspect it effected her memory.

Snakes Alive!!! Something I don’t have to worry about in Alaska. Bears, however, are another matter. A guy I used to fly with when we were both loadmasters in the Alaska Air National Guard was severely injured when he was mauled by a grizzly the other day.

"Noble is thinking about removing the large hedges away from her home and promises to wear more protective gear while working in the yard. "

Snakes as this can sense body heat as to where to bite.
