CHICAGO -- An unidentified Washington Nationals player who is vaccinated and asymptomatic has tested positive for COVID-19, manager Dave Martinez said Wednesday.
That player was deemed to have been in close contact with another Nationals player who is not vaccinated. Martinez said neither player would have been in the starting lineup against the Chicago Cubs and neither was available off the bench.

Of course, the vaccines are what gives one the positive test.
False positives?
Not ONE league, not ONE team thought about using HCQ or Ivermectin as a PREVENTIVE MEASURE against the disease?
It’s literally impossible for vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine to trigger a positive RT-PCT test. Even most rapid antigen tests won’t trigger off of it because most of those look specifically for the nucleocapsid proteins.
The vaccines don’t stop 100% of infections. Pfizer - for example - blocks 94% of asymptomatic infections and 97% of symptomatic infections. (https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/11/pfizer-covid-vaccine-blocks-94percent-of-asymptomatic-infections-and-97percent-of-symptomatic-cases-in-israeli-study.html)
The smallpox vaccine is only 95% effective. The pertussis (Whooping Cough) vaccine is only 80% effective. Some positives are expected.
Say it isn’t so!!
π
Well, it’s kind of funny that so many that are vaccinated seem to get the virus. Strange!! Defies explanation unless one stretches logic.
“So many”?
160 million Americans have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine so far. If we assume that the vaccine prevents at least 95% of infections, that means roughly 8 million of that 160 million could still become infected. But 152 million would not.
If it were “so many”, there wouldn’t be time in the day for a news story devoted to each and every breakthrough case.
If they’re doing nasal swabs as opposed to spit tests, and the guy’s is not symptomatic, couldn’t he have just been exposed to somebody who had it and some bits are hanging around in the guy’s schnoz?
Betcha they’re lying about vaccine uptake numbers, too...
Anyone know if they’re doing viral cell cultures on suspected breakthrough cases?
That is absolutely possible, yes. That’s an issue I’ve had with the testing protocols. The RT-PCR nasal passage testing for COVID-19 simply collects material from the nasal passages and checks for the presence of specific SARS-CoV-2 genetic material. There is no guarantee that it’s from active, infectious virions. There’s no guarantee that it’s even from that person (as you posited).
It’s also been shown that people who had COVID-19 and recovered could continue to test positive for weeks or months later. I think a saliva test would be likely to provide more definitive answers, but so far none of the saliva tests that have been developed have been widely deployed. I confess I haven’t looked too deeply into why that is.
sure seem to have a lot of “rare” breakthrough cases
like abortion is “rare”
When the CDC starts reporting how many amplifications are being used in the PCR test before they determine a positive, I will start to believe anything about the number of positive cases that we have in the USA. The more positives, the more deaths can be attributed to coronavirus and just keep us locked down. Itβs all very political and infuriating.
And a player from the Yankees too, and hubby said that guy had had covid AND was vaccinated and now heβs got covid again. But then the also read they are testing people 3 times a day, which seems ridiculous to me.
He must have forgotten to stipulate he had the “vaccine” so they could up the test parameters and not had this embarrassing positive.
why should anyone believe anything you say when you’ve proven yourself to be a liar???...
Why do you copy and paste the same nonsense in dozens of threads? Doesn’t it ever get old?
i’ve never copied and pasted anything on any of these threads...
please provide evidence to prove your accusation...
