I’m not the one who reported the post I had no idea it was going to be pulled. It was a nasty accusatory post and I responded to the specific accusation by telling the poster they were displaying the behavior they were accusing me of. If that offends you I am sorry. I did not start that one but once started I feel I had a right to reply. I am sick of the name calling vile nastiness toward anyone who disagrees with the anti vax crowd. Look at this thread and the behavior and you choose to jump on me for a reply using the exact words directed at me first. No one is interested in rational discussion if anything. I’m over it.

One of the main things a doctor has is the legal right to treat and to prescribe medicines.
That, and clinical experience for treatment of acute symptoms, and perhaps differential diagnosis.
The point is, once one steps away from the immediate crisis -- say, epidemiology, biochemistry, ...the underlying politicization of all this --
then those specialized skills are no longer of overweening importance.
It's hard for any specialist to admit that there is a sphere in which his/her expertise in something else doesn't put them immediately at the top of the heap.
