FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- In case you missed it, basketball great Shaquille O'Neal appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night.
When asked about his thoughts on UFOs, he had a special Central Valley shoutout when he says he saw one in the North Valley in 1997. Advertisement
"In Madera, California, and right when we passed the fairground, I could swear I saw a flying saucer come down with all the lights and it was spinning and then it took off," he said. "We all looked at each other and it was like, I know it was a UFO. I don't care what anybody says."
Shaq made a stop in the North Valley when he was on the Los Angeles Lakers.
He told Kimmel on his late-night show he was with friends on a double date and they were coming home from what was Hollywood Video in Madera at the time.
That's when he claims he made the stunning discovery.
Shaq says he had never told anyone that story for fears others would think he was crazy but says after that experience, he has no doubt in his mind that UFOs are real

Yes. It was in fact unidentified.
He’s probably telling the truth, but Shaq comes across as a nice, but not too bright sort of fellow, so his impact on any UFO exposure will be pretty minimal.
I know, he’s made tons of money from franchises, and looks can be deceiving, but that’s the impression I get from hearing him speak on radio commercials.

I believe he saw “something” also. What it was… who knows.
I launched a bunch of home-made hot air balloons
back in the late 60’s and early 70’s...
One flew over a high-school football game
and it made the local news...
Another caught the cow pasture on fire...
After that, my dad told me to cut that crap out.

Well, he’s considerably closer to them than I am.
UFOs are real. I know I saw 2 on Sunday from the church parking lot about 25 years ago. They were not flying saucers though. They were shimmering silver balls that appeared, sat for a few seconds, and then rapidly moved southward and then up out of sight. They were not alien spacecraft. They were some sort of natural phenomenon. UFOs are real. They are not alien spacecraft.
There are certain physical limitations imposed on us by this universe. Stars which are hundreds or thousands of light years away from us, and which may well harbor intelligent life will never reveal their existance to us because of the great distance. As Einstein said, we will never get to know about them. The physical constraint placed on us is speed to get here. Has anyone shown speed that could get them here in any heavenly bodies? Aliens from one of those stars would need to live at least a thousand years to get here. And when they got her, would they simply fly around the earth for hundreds of years without making contact? To what end?
Another thing, have you ever seen a clear picture of these UFOs? They are always foggy. I would like to think that there are flying saucers out there. It is a nice dream. But it is unrealistic given all the facts. Unfortunately, it is all science fiction and conjecture. I like to live in the real world. Show me how one could achieve speed necessary to get here in a reasonable amount of time and I am a believer. Show me anything capeable of such speed.
It is strange how Art Bell claimed he saw UFOs in the 1990s after he started his nightly radio show.
