You don’t get it. Yes, it IS just an opinion that people overrate this music. It isn’t because they “talk and enjoy” - it’s because they constantly brag about how great these nobodies are and how much better it is than “popular” music. It’s true. And it comes up every single music survey I do here on FR (never mind reading of it for 20 some years) where people “piss and moan” about the top 10 of any given year - being popular! There’s not any good songs there, not as good as JoeBlow, I wouldn’t listen to it if it’s the only thing left, etc. Self-important arrogance abounds around these topics, constantly.

Yeah I know about the guys that piss and moan about there’s no good music anymore. And you’ve probably seen me mock their willful ignorance. Because I believe ALL eillful ignorance should be mocked. Including when somebody says they’ve been seeing people talk about the Ramones for 20 years and still know nothing about them. To me that’s just sad.
If you’d have said you listened to them and thought they were crap that’s a statement of opinion and I got no problem. But when you say you’ve been hearing about them for 20 years, know nothing about them but hate that people listen to that obscure music... Well that’s just being a willfully ignorant snooty douchebag. That makes you EXACTLY the person you’re complaining about.
