A state approved journalist is one who knows to ask the tough questions to deep state approved targets, while lobbing softball questions to deep state protectees. Just being harsh and asking pointed and hard to answer followup questions to the wrong people will get a journalist black listed.

And, yes we have state-approved journalists in the USA.
