I agree 100%. It is my daily driver and has been for a while.

Manjaro is junk as far as I am concerned. Never got a kernel panic in a Debian distribution. Seems to only happen in a Arch distribution.

I recommend Linux Mint Cinnamon.

Same here, been using it off of a 250gb SSD for quite a while and its proven itself quite bulletproof so far.

MX Linux is a little bit easier for a noob, but I agree with your recommendation. And they forget to mention that IBM destroyed CentOS (free Redhat with no phone support). I would recommend anyone looking for a job go with Redhat. If you want to run a desktop use Mint or MX. Here is a little nifty website for folks intrested in Linux.

Anything Ubuntu based, which includes Mint. Biggest reason? The most widespread use and therefor you'll find the answers to any questions you have. Duckduckgo is going downhill for news stuff because they rely on google's search results but DDG is great for Ubuntu questions and will often give you the answer in a panel to the right of the regular results. More often than not, it will be a slackexchange result as opposes to wikihow who sucks.

Absolutely... Same here... For a first it is very hard to beat. Right out of the box it is almost win 7 if you are used to win 7. :)

And if you like Win XP a few clicks in the system manager and you can load up an XP theme for it. :)
