I’ve seen a number of his posts. Normally he simply posts raw data, etc. which prove the nonsense being stated is false. People go ballistic and get angry because the facts don’t fit the narrative they want to espouse. Fact vs. fiction is not a matter of having different opinions. His position is the correct position because it isn’t a “position”, it is simply sharing factual data and combating false information and narratives. People are indeed entitled to their own opinions. You seem to believe they are also entitled to their own facts. They are not. And you seem to take offense to someone sharing cold, hard facts because it blows up the false narratives. Well, that’s too bad.

Hey thanks FRiend!

I always try to stick to providing basic factual information with authoritative links and try to avoid getting bogged down in the back-and-forth that invariably descends into silly personal attacks. Sometimes I fall short of that, but I recognize I’m a flawed human being and take a step back when I see that things are going in a poor direction. Each of us has an individual responsibility to be our best through God’s grace.

There’s a lot of personal emotional investment in narratives tied to personal beliefs. When the facts don’t agree with that narrative, it can feel like an attack on one’s personal beliefs. There’s also a tribal aspect (e.g. “vaxxers vs anti-vaxxers”). But there’s only one reality, and all of us should be using our God-given intellect to search for the truth of that reality, because reality will never change to fit our beliefs. That’s the nature of reality: that which exists regardless of whether you believe in it.

If we base our decisions on facts and truth, they usually work out better for us. When we base them on falsehoods and fantasies, things can turn out quite badly. My wish for everyone here is that we all have the most accurate and up to date information available so we can all make the best decisions for ourselves and our families.

Nice you all stick together...Thanks for butting in. Since you did...

1. I note the people going “ballistic” (which is an over exaggeration) are not necessarily the vax hesitant...calling people liars? using words like nonsense, wacky, ridiculous, etc...are not posting facts.

I don’t know if the magnet video is a scam or not...Maybe someone who JUST got the jab can inform us—as a truth seeker, I would like to know...But more importantly, I just like the fact that for the most part, FR allows posting of anything that doesn’t violate posting rules...And what you or I consider ridiculous today might not be tomorrow... Look at all the talk about UFOs (5 threads posted in past week)...which were in the same league as Bigfoot a few months?/years ago?...I haven’t read those threads—don’t really care. But I am not going to ridicule the poster for posting.

2. I was not talking about cold facts on this thread—None were posted...I was talking about arrogant name calling— liars, using invectives, etc. in an attempt to shame people from posting alternative opinions or facts...that does not foster debate or respect for the facts.

3. I have seen data posted on FR that run contrary to the administration’s position. Not opinion—but factual articles by credentialed researchers...What are your credentials...I keep asking...Oh and if I am making a declarative statement, I will post a link backing it up.

4. His position is the correct position because it isn’t a “position”, it is simply sharing factual data and combating false information and narratives. People are indeed entitled to their own opinions. You seem to believe they are also entitled to their own facts. They are not. Cute but over used and untrue. 2a has an agenda—not sure what it is or more importantly why, but it is clear.

LOL...I have a family member w/PhD who does clinical trial stats, another is taking grad classes in biostats, so I am well aware of data and fact sets...Uh yeah, you kind of can have your own facts/conclusions if you present or omit data...And I have seen publications print differing positions and facts in the course of a month. I won’t even get into the goal-post moves and lying of the CDC and Fauci.

3. Too bad? Sorry but I want ALL sides posted as I am still deciding...and apparently so is the staff of other government agencies...See below...

Dr. Fauci Admits: 40 to 50 Percent of His Agency’s Employees Are Not Vaccinated. FDA Also Reports Similar Numbers.

Frankly, it would keep me up at night/make me uncomfortable to be in lockstep with this administration. Get the vax, get free coupons, free donuts, free coffee, shopping discounts, etc...

Yeah as 2a posted so many fine photos, there are “I voted” “I got flu shot” stickers (dumb?why?who cares?); however, I have never heard of all the above freebees and discounts (coffee, donuts, etc.) as well as free tickets to sporting events for getting a flu shot. So much for facts and balanced information...See we really can present our own set of facts to suit our side of the position...

As President Reagan said, Trust but verify...well the bureaucrats and pols have failed every test of trust—even their own staffers know better...

Sleep well.
