Restraining orders are one of the most worthless legal documents on the planet. What nutjob gives a damn about a Restraining Order? The best defense against violent nutjob stalkers is a loaded weapon. Readily accessible and aimed at the torso. Too many dead women had restraining orders when they should have had a loaded weapon instead.

Restraining orders are one of the most worthless legal documents on the planet. Police officers call ROs "Paper Kevlar".
Smart women in these situations get a firearm, then file an RO to establish a paper trail proving that they tried to defuse the issue. That way, as the police string the yellow tape around the deceased, they can be so informed.
