Former Navy Lieutenant Ryan Graves says he and other members of his F/A-18 fighter squadron detected strange, maneuverable and unidentified objects flying in the restricted airspace southeast of Virginia Beach nearly every day for two years beginning in 2015. The sightings were so common, he says, pilots and their crews began to take them for granted. Graves is calling those objects a threat to security in a 60 Minutes interview.
Graves is one of several current and former military members who have spoken publicly about what the Pentagon now calls unidentified aerial phenomena or UAP. These documented sightings of UAP, recorded on gun camera video and photos taken by U.S. service members, have been analyzed by the Defense Department for years. But the government only grudgingly acknowledged the internal efforts after unclassified videos of UAP were leaked to the New York Times in 2017. Now, the Senate Intelligence Committee has ordered the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense to compile a report on unidentified aerial phenomena to be delivered next month.
"I am worried, frankly. You know, if these were tactical jets from another country that were hanging out up there, it would be a massive issue," Graves tells Bill Whitaker in an interview airing Sunday on 60 Minutes. "But because it looks slightly different, we're not willing to actually look at the problem in the face. We're happy to just ignore the fact that these are out there, watching us every day."
Graves says pilots who have seen UAP speculate they could be a secret U.S. technology, an enemy spy platform, or something else entirely. Watching one of the unclassified videos he says, "This is a difficult one to explain. You have rotation, you have high altitudes. You have propulsion, right? I don't know...

“Explains why the Air Force concluded decades ago that they pose no threat.”
Posed no threat or there was nothing we could do about them anyway.
Possibilities:
1. US Top Secret Tech - Not sure I buy this because a lot of high level people who SHOULD know about it doesn’t seem to. While they could be very good liars, their denials seem credible (at least to me). It could an organization so secret that they are decoupled from all political oversight (think Control from “Get Smart”).
2. Foreign (Russian, Chinese, Nazis from the moon, SPECTRE, Kingsman, Rothschild, etc.). I don’t believe this particular possibility.
3. Interstellar aliens
4. Time travelers from the future
5. Another intriguing possibility is that we share the planet with another intelligent race (or variant of the human race) that we have never detected (likely because they did not want to be). These objects seem to be able to operate both in the air and under the sea. They could exist deep under the sea. Or maybe a “hollow Earth” (which has been a fringe theory for centuries).
i guess my point is- if the pilots were seeing these things every day, and they were showing up on radar or whatever every day, then you would think they would send trained videographers to document them seeings how they were so apparently prevalent - if they were so abundant, this shouldn’t be a mystery any longer- there shoudl be proof- nearly undeniable- proof that can’t be easily dismissed-
Yup, I have forgotten everything I know :-)
Another possibility: Psych Ops designed to accomplish some higher purpose.
BS
I spent hundreds of hours in that same airspace night and day for 15 years and never saw anything or heard of anyone else seeing anything.
It’s good this Navy pilot is no longer a Navy pilot.
Yeah but his story is better
The UFOs are flying in MOA airspace which means we know where they come from
The fact that we are not freaking out about it means they are ours.
you just think you didn’t- they erased your memory of what you saw- they’re tricky like that
Alex, I’ll take “super-intelligent octopi” for $100.
Winner. Secret tech. During the hot part of the cold war in the 50’s, the AF came up with the brilliant idea to cover up secret test flights and crashes by planting stories that it was SPACE ALIENS. And the rest is history...
A light reflected off a shiny button or watch face onto a canopy can appear to zoom across the sky at high speed and instantly change it’s “flight” direction.Try it sometime.
I think some of these guys are just trolling for magazine and media dollars to tell “stories”.
I keep thinking that this is boob bait for bubbas to shift the conversation away from borders, gun control, and inflation...
Yeah...I used to work on jets. And I’ve been known to play with lasers in the house.
Whom am I going to believe? Named and identified navy pilots, radar operators, DOD officials, with videos, images, radar tracks etc., or some anonymous person on the Internet?
Boy, that's a tough one.
One concept that has not been explored. They are from our future (mostly or all unmanned). They tend to show up in greater numbers at key inflection points in our history. Nuclear weapons, etc. etc. Historians.
CIA aircraft, drones, etc. that the U.S. military does not know about nor the CIAs’ capabilities, etc.
The military acts like the CIA is their master so the U.S. military briefs the CIA on U.S. military activities, etc.
The CIA doesn’t brief the U.S. military on the CIA’s REAL/EVIL activities, capabilities, etc. that are done by the CIA and LOTS... of other domestic and foreign enemies out of the earshot and eyeshot of the U.S. military.
HAS ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE BECAUSE THE U.S. MILITARY IS CLUELESS ABOUT WHAT THE CIA .REALLY. IS.
