I know rice. Yes and yes. Now have you tried parboiled basmati or jasmine? To cry over. I know parboiling reduces nutrition a tad, but the kernels stay so distinct and have an organoleptic pop. Parboiled rice does so much better in something like a pilaf or a gumbo.
