Pipelines feed large tank farms not gas stations right?
so why did gas stations run out in 3 days? Did the millions gallons tank farms all run dry the moment the lines stopped pumping. Those farms usually store weeks to months of fuel that is then trucked to the stations. Curious goings on.

Gas stations ran out because the media hyped it and caused a panic. People everywhere are filling every gas can they gave or can buy. Drove from NE Alabama to Bristol VA today...every station had vehicles lined up and gas cans everywhere. I burn diesel so I didn’t have much problem. Still...filled 3 5 gal jugs to make sure I can get home.

I think you don’t understand the industry. Gas stations are re-stocked on a schedule, sold far in advance. If they run out and there’s no fuel to sell them until the pipeline restarts, they’re out of luck.
