I don’t the “they only backed Princess Liz because they blindly loved the Bush/Cheney era” holds water. Jeb Bush was running for President around the same time period, and the same conservative talk show hosts pimping Liz Cheney as a a heroic Tea Party fighter in Wyoming wouldn’t be caught dead touting Jeb! for POTUS.

As late as April of 2016 Rush was telling us that Micro Rubio was a “full-throated conservative”.
Micro Rubio is Yeb!’s understudy.
Yikes. I remember shaking my head when he was touting Bush’s Lt. Governor Rick Perry as some kind of reincarnation of Ronald Reagan, but I didn’t know he was a Rubio fanboy.
