Mrs. Copaliscrossing and I were looking for a TV show to watch and decided on New Amsterdam because we liked the lead actor when he was in The Blacklist. Well, it all started out pretty good and we were getting into it then... ugh... the far left political messaging started getting stronger and stronger with subjects like hiring disparity between minorities and white people and other pet liberal causes. Sooo disappointing. The same thing happened to us when we got into Madame Secretary and Lone Survivor. We have decided we are better off staying with the streaming content that usually stays to a sane storyline instead of pushing a political agenda. Still have to be careful with that.

I had the same reaction to the show and stopped recording it too. It had promise but then took a hard turn to the left.

Popular entertainment is nothing but an engine for powering “progressive” ideology.

Have you tried “The Americans”?
YES! Finished that series about a month ago. Was sorry to see it end. It was really good stuff and from what I read, the spy tradecraft was pretty accurate to the time period the show was portraying.

try The Chosen. it’s a crowd sourced “tv” show of the life of Jesus.
Thank you for the suggestion!

Have you seen “The Serpent”?
No political message or axe to grind. Just a great detective story in SE Asia with a huge multi-national set of characters: Dutch, Canadian, English, Thai, Australian, American, and Indian. It’s a “who done it” but you know who did it from the very start. It’s scary and keeps you on the edge of your seat, but there is almost no violence. It’s a detective story without a detective.
Sounds interesting. Is it on one of the streaming services?

New Amsterdam was woke from the first minute of the show.

The show I really like that stays away from the far left political BS is The Blacklist. Love James Spader. When he starts waxing eloquent about his dalliances in exotic places with a gun pointed at him, I just just lose it with laughter. His performances on that show are award winning IMNSHO....

I used to watch Blue Bloods, but after their episodes started centering around recent news stories, I turned it off. I don't watch the news of the week being replayed in a TV show. I stopped watching it 2-3 years ago. I'd rather watch Troy Landry bag alligators each week.

It’s either on Netflix or Amazon. I think Amazon, but I’m not 100% certain. I’ll have to go look it up.
I wasn’t sure I’d like it based on Episode 1, but it got me hooked. It’s a true story, too.
