GST is the Goods and Services Tax that we have up here in Canada. And the cost of gasoline is much higher here than in the US - $1.30 per litre or just under $5 per gallon. And it’s true that half the cost of gas is taxes. Gotta pay for that “free” health care, which is excellent care when your place in the long line finally comes up. Beer, spirits and wine cost more too because they’re heavily taxed for the same reason.
