I have 4 unopened billy beer cans in my shed they mostly evaporated now and two opened cans. lol. couldn’t drink more then one. I think I was ten when my dad gave them to me. I collected cans as a youngster. I think he took one sip. I took a few more. I bought a six-pack of Billy Beer, under the 'it'll be worth money someday' proviso.
It has been lost to the annals of time, lo these many years.
But I do got a large can of Foster's Lager with the label printed upside down on my dresser right now.
One day I'll be a GAZILLIONAIRE!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. My mom threw out my comic books AND my baseball/football card.

Gather Ye Acorns Jonathan Quick (Mark Hamil), the bane of his practical parents' existence, takes an ancient tree troll's advice to pack up his treasured comic-book collection and follow his heart. And so, fifty years later.. To my surprise, I found it online. I recommend it as it is a good parallel to your story.

Mine threw out my custom re-curve bow and dozens of hand made hardwood arrows. And still, even Bad Men love them their Mamas.
