Which puts me in mind of a tale from the Book of Bag.
So there I was, of a lonely Saturday, on the third floor of the 'old' jail, max security housing.
Working with a female partner, she came back from 3F (the worst of GP), telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty (name that song or the band for bonus points).
Hero that I was, back in those days. I perked right up, and I'm like, 'Oh, yea? Gimme a name'.
I get the name and proceed to the location. Opening the cell door (housing about 14 inmates), I called out homes. You see, all the inmates knew what was up, having witnessed that one mfky 'disrespect the guard'.
The homes HAD to come out. Its prison law.
So there he is, me and him. He was six foot four and full of muscles (name that song or group for an additional ten points), to my 6 ft, 185 lean, mean, fighting machine.
I puts Mr. smack talker on the wall. Pro-tip, if, when in an agitated state and expecting trouble, a convict submits to 'going on the wall', they have surrendered.
Bagster, wild child that he was, was not about to accept surrender so easily. A lesson was to be learned.
I proceed to do the old 'kick their legs apart' strategy, just a smidge too rough. Again, homes knew what was up. I was daring him to 'go off'. If he did, I probly woulda got my ass kicked (not guaranteed).
So I'm all up in his ear talking hellacious trash and maybe even telling him about his mama, I forget.
Then the brotha says to me, he says, 'I could put you in the hospital'. So Bagster, the undefeated Gaul (name that series),says, 'Then I guess we'll get beds right next to each other'.
And then I put him back in his tank. Lesson learned by all. Just think about what his cellies thought, as he sheepishly walked in. And he wasn't about to admit what went down, The mystery was the lesson.
When in the jungle, one must behave like a beast.
We got our rules, they got theirs. Understanding THEIR rules is the key to victory, in any adversarial setting. And none more than politics.

I wish you could visit and DH and you could talk! He has stories too although not in LE. Like the time he was in the refugee camp in Austria for almost a year, and gangs sort of ruled it. Let’s be clear. Nothing will happen until people who have the authority and/or ability to act against the DS act against them. The only reason the Maricopa audit matters to us is because of what we hope it will lead to. Without action by either we the people or by those in power who have the authority to detain and arrest, the Maricopa audit will just be another data point that already confirms what we already know. I’ve seen no evidence yet that good people in power will act once the audit reveals the theft of the AZ election. Maybe that leaves it to we the people. And if that’s the case then it won’t be pretty but it will be the only way.
