It seems we’ve entered into a bit of mania, as internet stocks did in ‘99-00.

with nothing to back these coins up, I expect them to crash and burn sometime in the future.
BTC and ETH are two different coins with two different purposes.
There is no rule that a person cannot own either or both.
Why do writers make it seem like these are an either/or proposition?

The influential investors are looking for movement, not stability. If things are too stable, they will break something so they can vacuum up the wealth of little investors. It has always been this way.
Taxing dividends but not capital gains has the same effect. It encourages destruction of corporations, like stealing heirloom silver and melting it down.
A little bit of predatory practice keeps things stable, but too much just makes the wrong people rich, and stifles creation.
The real question is: who do you trust more— a bunch of bankers and bureaucrats and politicians, or a sophisticated, largely hack proof computer program with set and known parameters?

I think ALL crypto currency has the potential to go back to ZERO.
In the meantime, the only thing "wrong" with Bitcoin is the Law of Large Numbers.
Bitcoin closed around $55,700 today.
It is up 450% in eight months.
In terms of market cap - the total value of all Bitcoins - it is the overwhelming leader in the crypto space.

My preference is for pre-’65 U.S. silver coins.
Just off the top of me head I would think BitCoin is safer than these fly by nite alt coins. I don’t own any of the above “coins” so am non-biased.
