Tim Tebow is back in the NFL…

Urban Meyer is signing his old college QB to play tight end for Jacksonville

The #Jaguars are planning to sign QB-turned-TE Tim Tebow to a 1-year deal, per me and @TomPelissero, a deal that could be official in the next week or so. Nothing done yet. But he’ll have a chance to make the team to reunite with his mentor and college head coach Urban Meyer.

From the New York Post:

https://nypost.com/2021/05/10/tim-tebow-set-to-get-second-nfl-chance-with-jaguars/

The Jacksonville Jaguars are planning on signing Tebow to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network, as he plans a comeback as a tight end. Though the ex-quarterback had brief stints with the Patriots and Eagles, Tebow hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012 with the Jets.

Tebow, 33, recently had a tryout with the Jaguars after reaching out to them regarding his interest in converting to tight end.

After NFL teams no longer showed interest in Tebow as a quarterback, he pursued a baseball career and played several minor league seasons in the Mets organization. He retired from baseball in February.

Tebow is reunited with Urban Meyer, his former Florida Gators coach, who is making his first foray into the NFL with the Jaguars.

Tim Tebow? A fine young man with a deep faith and I wish him well.

The NFL? Go woke and go broke.

TT appears to be a fine young man and was a decent football player...why he would want to go back to that craphole is puzzling...

Kind of expected the Kaepernick rant by the media and black “leaders” as to why another white QB has a chance at an NFL roster and not him. It may still come.

To answer myself, maybe it’s because he’s signing on to try out at TE.

“as to why another white QB has a chance at an NFL roster and not him”

Still won’t get me to watch the BLM NFL. They lost me years and years ago. They can go broke for all I care.

They’ll use him as a dual threat, assuming he can catch a pass reliably and maybe throw one occasionally.

I know how you feel; feel the same way myself.

No decent person can do anything but like Tim Tebow. I think of his descent into the NFL as I think of Jonah being sent into wicked Nineveh.

The surprising thing about that: Nineveh actually repented.

I am skeptical that Tebow can singlehandedly pull 32 team owners, players, advertisers and the NFL front office out of the sewer.

That would be a miracle.

Let him pad his retirement with a couple million more. He earned his chance.

Ticked me off that the NY Jets never gave him a chance to start a game. Tebow was the backup QB and they started the 3rd string QB ahead of Tebow for the final 2 games of that season. I wish him well he’s a class act with a winning attitude and a fine young man of character.

Getting signed for training camp is a long, long way from “being back in the NFL”.

Two big assumptions.

No signing bonus, no guaranteed salary. Tebow won't make more than $20,000 or so for training camp.
