Send them back to China.
Who purchased and who sent to these to be dumped?
Why would they dump them?
Ventilators are not perishable goods.
Heck they could auction them off, governmsnt auctions of equipment all the time.
So then test them.
And bill them for the shipping. Double bill them.
The ChiComs are really getting on my last nerve.
Why reuse and refurbish when you can get massive amounts of government money to make more?
And they want us to sort trash and recycle to save landfill space?
What hypocrites!!!!
Pallets of cardboard boxes... could be ventilators, could be ballots...
Could be converted to C-Pap machines.
Mt. Trashmore. 35 years ago on a clear day you could see it from Eliot Key.
Heck maybe paned parent hood could have turned them into abortion vacums
Thatโs about when we drove up it. Got to the top and some veterinarian must have recently dumped a bunch of cows and dogs. And you know what the Florida heat does to a carcass. Approaching it, you could see the seabirds flying around the top.
p
Because we have more ventilators than we can possibly ever need or use. And the equipment cannot be used for anything else.
That is what happens when you have panic-buying funded by Government programs with unqualified supervision. Hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions really) get wasted. Maybe that is unavoidable in a short-term.
BTW, ventilators are a last-ditch salvage operation on very ill patients. The fatality rate starts at 50% for the first 24 hours, and goes up from there. 90% of patients who stay on ventilators longer than 24 hours will die. This is what working ER practitioners and anesthesiologists consistently tell me.
I believe them.
Better to spend the money on anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, and anti-coagulation medications, starting on the first day of symptoms. And yes, spend the money on vaccinations or mRNA treatments if we can do that safely.
We are learning at great cost how to deal with COVID. The key idea is to avoid repeating mistakes. And avoid mistakes from which we cannot recover.
These ventilators were just those imported from China. What about the hundreds of thousands of ventilators built during a crash program last year that even had even auto companies churning them out? My bet is those not languishing in some warehouse gathering dust ended up in landfills like these. Anyone remember Gov. Cuomo whining about the need for thousands of more ventilators for COVID patients? Another huge waste of taxpayers money during the COVID panic.
What about the cry for more hospital beds in New York? A thousand bed hospital ship inNew York harbor...unused.... the Javetts Center turned into a COVID isolation hospital...unused..... an emergency tent hospital erected in Central Park...unused. All these wasted resources despite NewYork having the highest infection rate and the most COVID deaths and Gov. Cuomo being hailed as a model for leadership during the pandemic.
