I do not hunt turkey. The object of turkey hunting is to be as invisible as possible and to sound as much like a turkey as possible.
Deadly combination. Too many idiots taking “sound shots”.
The Turkeys around here parade along the driveway whilst announcing their presence.

Apparently they are the King’s turkeys as taking one ist verboten.
Living in Texas, we are blessed with enough private places to go hunting, so you generally know who is on your land (unless it’s near the border)... you couldn’t pay me to go hiking or hunting on public land during turkey season for this reason.
Dove hunting is much for fun in my opinion.. If want to sit in the bushes all day and not move, I’ll roll my car into the ditch!
