If I was dad, I'm to the point of breaking legs.

But they 'hired a lawyer'; that'll get 'em. /s

Getting ‘thrown out’ of an institution that totalitarian is normally referred to as an ‘escape’. The only end that needs tying up is refund of the tuition and costs for the semester.

Wonder if this generation will even notice that social media does nothing to enhance their life and causes lots of damage.

If I was a student ID hold a nask-off demonstration.

The school can’t kick everyone out.

I hate to be the guy, but there are serious impediments to them filing suit and being successful. First, it is unconstitutional to sue a state, which in this case, UMASS is a state school. The people involved in this horrific decision are likely covered by qualified immunity, in that any actions they’ve taken were done so, in their official capacity, and it is almost impossible to sue the individuals. The best they can do, is make an unequal under the law claim, but they’ll need to prove they were singled out, and were discriminated against, tough sledding. Things that seem so obviously wrong, when performed by state actors, are shielded by the ever expanding immunities that have been created, since the time of Nixon. Judges and prosecutors are absolutely immune, and police and prison guards, and other state officials have qualified immunity.

The Dems have passed a law, in the house, limiting police immunity, but it has not, and may not pass the senate. I believe it is called the “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act”. Regardless, in most states, the state indemnifies the police officers when they’re sued, and defends them, and if for some reason a good lawyer wins against a police officer, the state pays the claim.

One of the girls was valedictorian. That tells me that some jealous student narc’ed on them, just to ruin a little bit of these girls lives. The parents should be refunded most of that $16K tuition.

If that happens within a year or two, these students should chose some other school to finish their education at. This school will throw you under that bus without a moment’s notice. No second chances given once it is discovered that you are imperfect. Let’s not forget, this happened off campus and in their private lives.

off campus outside on a Saturday and they still must wear masks? Oh bow down before the sacred mask!

enquiring minds want to know: did the girls violate Mass state law being outside unmasked? did the girls sign a code of conduct with the university pledging to wear masks everywhere?

They should stop posting every moment of their life on antisocial media. It’s bad enough when someone rats on you, but when you rat on yourself. LOL!

In fact, who with a brain uses their real name online except for their LinkedIn SPAM page and the like?

I attended an aviation gathering today in Palmer, Alaska. Virtually no one was wearing a mask. That’s the difference between a free state and a tyrannical oppressed state.

Being kicked out of the entire STATE of Massachusetts would be a BLESSING to these college students if these brainwashed young “comrades” had a clue.

People living in these communist states are victims of non-stop abuse and don’t even know better.

Supposedly, those enrolled in colleges in Mass. are “learning.” One thing they are NOT learning is the long history of complete failure of Soviet-style societies.

It is simply amazing the amount of abuse and deprivation of liberty these young people will endure to try and fit into a totalitarian strait jacket. These young people are being taught nothing is more important than obeying the state even if the state is run by raving lunatics.

The old saying is: “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

As soon as a judge sees pictures of the school hockey players not wearing masks and not being punished, the school will lose it’s case or they will have to suspend the hockey players and perhaps the coach.

I don’t care much for liberals but I hate injustice even when done to liberal college girls. They were just being girls and didn’t need to be slapped with so harsh a punishment...givem a warning letter or making them clean school toilets or something is the worst that should have happened to them.

Oh there’s all sorts of title 9 issues and double standards being set here. The pictures of the unmasked hockey players with no punishments issues to them will be damning for the school’s case.

So virtual learning was ok until it wasn’t?

That sounds vindictive.

And a good start to a lawsuit for huge damages.

I’m glad I’m not a college student now. I would not have put up with their garbage for ten minutes.

Actually, if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t bother with college. I’d find a good skilled trade and become expert in that.

Put your kids in a Massachusetts college, count on a mauling.

The way I read the article, they were not allowed to take their finals and basically lost the $16,000 in tuition for the year.

What’s really insane is that apparently they want to re-enroll and go back next year

My opinion regarding college nowadays is, unless you’re getting a degree in the hard Sciences or in a specialized field, don’t even go. A liberal arts degree is absolutely worthless now. In addition it’s pretty much propagandized garbage.
