In general homeless people, even druggies will dump garbage in a bin if one were provided.

Seriously, even if only 50% is put in the trash that still saves a lot of money on the back end cause you only have to clean 1/2 as much crap up

The homeless camp by my shop just burns everything, and of course every few months the whole camp burns up too!

There’s some truth to that. At a local park, there are plenty of trash cans. Any that are convenient to the general public end up being quickly filled with household trash from people in the neighborhood houses, or people cleaning out there cars. An extra dumpster will be filled in no time. And the more remote trash cans around the lake are targets for arson. As far as that goes, the dumpdter got torched, and the overhanging trees threatened to ignite. That would have been a serious problem. And there’s still trash on the trails.

Camps out in the brush fill up with daily trash. It seems to be beyond most of these people that they can pack things out, as well as in.

Many of these people get tents, tarps, and bedding for free. They just bail on a lot of it when they get rousted. I remember one woman that was making a list of new things she needed, so that a guy could fill a cart at WalMart and take off with it.

Or maybe we could really act like we (the USA) cared and intern these libertarians/reprobates/addicts in cages. Like sheriff Joe used to do. I’ve been through the Mojave. Plenty of room there.
