If you take 100 people and vaccinate 95 of them, you have 95 vaccinated and 5 unvaccinated.

If 3 of the vaccinated people (3%) die and 2 of the unvaccinated (40%) die, then “most deaths” are from people who are vaccinated. But who’s better off in that scenario? Because I count 97% of the vaccinated still alive and only 60% of the unvaccinated among the living.
