If ‘they’ were a professed Liberal, much of California would clamor to vote for ‘them’; and give them a landslide victory.
Bruce-Caitlyn Jenner may end up clearing the field for Rick Grenell if Grenell decides to run. Grenell is gay but by comparison to Jenner he couldn’t look more normal.
Grenell was one of few reliable team players that Trump had in his administration. He has some name recognition and gov’t experience from that. He routinely polls high among Cali Republican voters when he’s mentioned as a possible candidate.
The biggest opposition to Grenell will come from Trump haters in the national GOP. Kevin McCarthy for one. Grenell is MAGA and the GOPe wants none of that. Their idea of a good candidate is the invisible John Cox who might as well be in Witness Protection, or Obama clone Neel Kashkari who the GOP Bushies ran for governor a couple of cycles back.

We could have elected Tom McClintock when we recalled Gray Davis, but hacks like Hugh Hewitt rallied behind Arnold knowing that Arnold would be a sock puppet for the national party. And he was.
I like and respect Grenell. He did very well by Trump, and also stands very well on his own in terms of intelligence and Conservative political values.
Give that it’s California we’re talking about, I say go for it. One less Democrat in power can only be a good thing.

Seriously, I think Grenell can win if he decides to run.
We need a name candidate who unlike Arnold isn’t an empty suit.
I’ve tried to come up with California conservatives who have name recognition and it’s a very short list.
James Wood has the name and he’s reputedly very smart but he’s an actor with zero gov’t experience.
I’m especially impressed by his grasp of international issues and the dangers we face.
(I used to respect the CIA because of people I’d known who worked there and some who had written books about their experiences and concerns. Fortunately, all of those men are retired; but they are probably cringing and embarrassed lately. The ‘woke’ ad being promoted now could not have convinced our enemies that the United States is a nation and power in serious decline if it had been DESIGNED to do exactly that. They seem to have high-school sophomore tyros running things over there, now.)
How do I know that Caitlyn isn't really conservative or a Republican?
