I’d love to read it if you do find it. Refusing to get on the trains would have forced the Nazis to begin to kill the Jews on the streets of their cities and bring their agenda into the open, instead of committing their crimes behind fences and walls. Killing the Jews on the streets or in their homes wouldn’t have allowed their neighbours to pretend they didn’t know what was happening and the killings may have stopped sooner.
By agreeing to the incremental restrictions now, those who mean us harm in the long term now have the mechanism in place to commit their crimes in public - all under the guise of public safety. How foolish we have been. I pray that the shots are not harmful to those who’ve taken them or that their effects can be reversed later. I’m choosing to be shot in the street rather than agreeably get on any part of the train.
I agree. My husband and I were just discussing that and he is going tto use that question for a Sunday school lesson. If you were a Christian in Nazi Germany and heard the train going past and heard the cries of the people on it, what would you do? Or better, what should you have done several years previous to prevent it from getting to that point?
Or… if they are rounding YOU and your family up to put on the train, what to do… or what should we be doing as Christians now to prevent from getting to that point. We need to be taking that seriously and thinking and praying about that!
