Agreed. We all must rely on critical thinking and personal observation and experience. I figured out the media was lying in 1969 so I do not believe anything I cannot verify personally or with my own connections around the world. (And every year I lose a few of those. Not many left now.)
I do not know what is actually happening out there but I know the media is lying. I only know for sure what is happening on this island: Since March 2020 there have been less than a hundred people who tested positive, mostly arriving visitors or residents returning from the lower forty eight. Half a dozen people reported mild to moderate symptoms early in the panic. No one has been hospitalized or evacuated for treatment. No one has died of COVID 19 on the island. About half of the 3000 residents have now been vaccinated.
I am not a kid. I do not see the need for me personally to wear a mask or take the shot under these circumstances.
Personally, I fell in the soup today.. and stupidly commented. I hate this worn out subject, don’t you? Particularly on this thread.. dull as dishwater, cause of much sleepiness, distraction, bs, good for sucking up band width.

Agree 100%. I am looking at family that has had covid, what precautions they took or didn’t take, what my doctor and other local experts claim. I won’t take the shot. My doctor said “wear the mask in crowds, get the flu and pneumonia shot, don’t get the covid shot, and take all the other precautions.
I have been told online that masks don’t work to protect against a virus. Well, why did my asthma doctor tell me in 2008, WAY before covid, to get my flu shot and wear the mask in crowds? Last I heard the flu is a virus. I have family in the medical field. They wear the standard medical mask when working on patients if working closely or doing surgery. According to them they wear the mask to “prevent me from giving a cold or other illness to the patient if I don’t know I’m getting sick”.
I’m 66 with asthma. Other than the asthma I’m healthy. I don’t trust most doctors but I trust these two. I prefer to trust them over what I read online. I consider and think about what I read online but still make up my own mind after thinking about it and seeing what is actually happening around me. I don’t know anybody personally that has died from covid except for my sister’s co-worker. She said he was healthy but how can she really know?
I know for sure I don’t trust the government, the CDC, or the WHO. I for sure refuse to blindly follow what I read on the Internet.
