That should have read “run on propane”. Electric water heaters suck HUGE amounts of wattage.

Just listened to one of the prophets on youtube (Robin) and he mentioned that today, the date of his service, May 10th, was the 111th day since January 6. Didn’t Q post some numbers 11.2 and 11.3 which many people thought were dates?

Electric water heater = 5000 watts, or 5 KW. It is a big user.

The small “point of use” heaters are more efficient as they don’t need to maintain a tank of hot water, but for me, I’m happy with my gas hot water tank. The gas bills in the summer, when only the hot water tank is running, are about $15 a month, and there’s PLENTY of hot water available.

I’m sure I could save even more money if I turned it down a few degrees, but hot water should be HOT!
