I just recently got my electrical service upgraded and got an 8,000 watt generator hooked in. It’s a portable, which I wanted, much less expensive. It’ll run the entire house. Has a manual transfer switch but I like it like that, I want the control. Most of our big ticket electrical items run non propane so 8k can run everything, even my pool pump! It has a cover I bought for it that can stay on it when it’s running and keep the rain off it at all times.

Real easy to put together.

That should have read “run on propane”. Electric water heaters suck HUGE amounts of wattage.

we have a 4000 gen now....but we also have a mix of power...natural gas for heat, hot water, and the stove top...electric for the rest although we do run a wood stove oct to april.....perhaps we'll consider one of those generac products some time....

of course it all depends on the availability of gas......or solar, if we go that way....

anyway you look at it, an evil govt will screw us somehow....
