I think they are looking in the wrong direction. They should be looking in our distance from galactic center and outwards to the rim, not inwards towards the center.............................

My theory is all of those possible planets that did have higher life forms never got to the technology of creating the radio. They destroyed each other before they progressed. I guess they never got Christ.
