Given the high quality and artistic execution of Italian Roman bronze sculptures, these items, if representative of the entire horde, are probably made by local craftsmen with very limited training.

Interesting story with mention of the movie GLADIATOR. Personally I liked Alec Guinness in FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE(1964) as well, with it’s stunning sets of the Roman Forum! No CGIs in that movie. That really is a huge army in the background!
