Meanwhile, the Democrats have been stripping away any screening measures owners had in place claiming they were discriminatory. Owners have very little protection now against bad renters - and the renters know this.
My daughter’s family has rented houses the last few years from the groups that own thousands of houses. They have gotten much better about giving full deposits back unless there is serious damage. They expect they will have to repaint and such but they are actually very relieved when they tenants have not trashed the home. Of course the big companies can weather those things.
