Look out Cinderella, there’s a new castle in Central Florida.

The world’s largest White Castle has officially opened in Orlando.

The massive 4,567-square-foot restaurant is located in The Village at O-Town West at the intersection of Palm Parkway and Daryl Carter Parkway off Interstate 4.

Hundreds of fans of the chain’s famous hamburger sliders lined up, camping out overnight or arriving early Monday to be the first in line for the restaurant’s opening.

The location is now the largest White Castle in the world with indoor and outdoor seating and two drive-thru lanes.

“We do know we have lots of cravers throughout Florida & we figured we start in the center. The heart of it all and create the largest White Castle here in Central Florida,” Lisa Ingram, President & CEO said.

The new White Castle is located not far from the attractions.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said the location is great as he expects more tourists to visit Central Florida this summer.

“The summer is just really a blockbuster summer for us our hotels and our conventions are going to be working at a record pace so I’m excited about what that will mean for our community,” Demings said.

White Castle brought 140 new jobs to Orange County and is the largest White Castle in the world.

“Bowling Green KY has both. I spent a night there and got to try both (for science). Krystals has the better chicken sandwich. Otherwise pretty comparable.”

I’ve only had White Castle frozen. Either way. It’s all good.

I’m hungry.

I remember when the Planning Commission in Overland Park, Kansas wanted to make them make their new building a Beige Castle — I kid you not.

There was a White Castle in Lansing a few years ago. As much as I like those puny lil thangs, I never went to that one.

When I lived in Port Huron there were a couple of Powers burger joints that were essentially the same thing as White Castle. So similar, I later wondered if the Powers’ stores used to be White Castles.

WC has a somewhat unique way of cooking sliders. The patties are perforated and cook by steaming them atop onions. I’ve had the frozen and I thought they were good enough. I’ll buy them, still, if they’re on sale.

As several others have said, white castle go right through you. They call them sliders for a reason.

Same kind of people who wait in line for hours for the new IPhone, or PlayStation, or the “vaccination”.

Yuk, yuk, yuk! Who wouldn’t love “Popeye the Sailorman?” He smokes his pipe, chuckles, eats his spinach, and then takes care of the day with his super-human strength.

Things I have lined up for. Chick -fil-A...once. First showing of Return of the Jedi in 1983. Stand by line to see the Tonight Show in 1987. Price is Right same year 1987...was not called down. Some other sports and entertainment events over the course of a lifetime. All these were for about half and hour or so and in good weather. I’m at the stage of life where not much the world offers would get me to line up for very long anymore including anything to do with covid.

Did Harold and Kumar get to the front of the line?

Amazing it was way back in 2004 when that movie came out. Missed the final cut for the Academy Award but it is still fondly remembered by sophisticated classy film buffs.

I long for White Castle Burgers. No such restaurants out here in California. If desperate, I could buy the frozen version, but just not as satisfying.

It’s no better than Crystal.

You're the first person I know of who's had both to hold that position.

I like White Castle, but their service makes a sloth look fast.

And "Steak 'n Shake" makes White Castle look fast.

If you get the frozen, you should also get a jar of pickles, too. The pickle is omitted from the frozen edition.

I used to live about 100 feet from a White Castle, and that’s the only burger I ate for the duration of my life in that neighborhood.

Here in Florida, I haven’t seen a White Castle anywhere near my Tampa home. Not that I miss them, since, I’m not into burgers anymore.

I have seen White Castle burgers in my neighborhood supermarket, but still not tempted.

I’ve been eating sliders since the 60’s and I’ll be eating them till the day i die. Lotsa memories there. But - a word of caution - never leave a partiality eaten sack of sliders in your car overnight. The smell is overwhelming and takes weeks. You’ve been warned..
