Who appoints the head of the CDC and all the higher ups? It’s the President with approval of the Senate.

Upon whose advice and recommendation? He doesn't just use Hogwarth's sorting hat. And I haven't seen ads for applicants to be director of the CDC in the Federal Register.

If Trump didn’t have someone in mind himself, he relied on staff and allies.

His first CDC head, Brenda Fitzgerald, had worked with HSS Secretary Tom Price in Georgia and was a friend of Newt Gingrich.
