Too bad for her but the president of the space council is normally the Vice President. So the article is a stretch that this some new position relative to the office. Her response is pro forma before taking the position. Now we need to see what damage will happen with the moon and Mars missions.

Being a Space Case, and knowing about Outer Space are two different things.

It’s not an honor. It’s a responsibility.

As usual, Democrats appoint the most un-qualifed person to the post.

Joe Biden was raggin on her for not even trying to solve the border crisis... and she croaked... “give me some space!”

Done and done. Next she will be expected to inspect the International Space Station. Just don’t let her back if she actually does visit it. Change the locks.

“Vice President Kamala Harris confirms role as new chair of National Space Council, saying she is ‘honored’ to take up the role”

Fitting job for someone who is always spaced out anyway.

Perhaps I worry too much.

She plans to put her personal stamp on the space program. “Her priorities are focused on policies including the advancement of STEM education, cybersecurity, supporting the long-term sustainability of commercial space activity, and diversity in the workforce.”

We are told that the current big deal in STEM education right now is that it is not ‘diverse’ enough and seems to be fixating on ‘getting the right answer’ rather than social justice.

Long-term sustainability of space activity...too much dependence on non-renewable resources that rape mother earth. Perhaps a train into space. Trains are nice.

Cybersecurity? Gaining access to ‘insurgent’s’ iPhones would be nice.

And finally ‘diversity in the workforce’. If you have watched the PBS program on Perseverance/Ingenuity you’d think that NASA has been successfully purged of white males, but I guess there is more work to be done.
