CHICAGO (CBS) — Next month, the city of Chicago will offer “Vax Passes.”
The pass will allow vaccinated people to attend certain concerts and events. More details on how it works are expected in the next few weeks.
Asked about the city’s “Vax Pass” initiative, Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the city is “constantly looking at ways in which we can incentivize folks to get the vaccine.”
“We’re going to be looking at ways in which we can incentivize people to get vaccinated, and do that by looking at preferred seating, preferred admission. So that’s still very much a work in progress, and we’ll have more to say on that in the coming days,” she said.
The mayor said vaccinations among the city’s Black population are still lagging behind every other demographic.
“So we really need – particularly 18 to 44, where we’re seeing the lowest uptake – we need you to get vaccinated. Do it, of course, for yourself; but for your family, for your grandparents,” Lightfoot said. “There’s plenty of opportunity now all over the city to get vaccinated for free – let me emphasize that, for free. So don’t be a bystander. Get in the game. Get yourself vaccinated.”
On Tuesday, Doctor Allison Arwady, head of the Chicago Department of Public Health, said the “Vax Pass” is another way to convince people to get the COVID shot.
“Younger people in particular may be excited about the idea of getting into events for example that might be limited to people who are vaccinated,” Arwady said. “So we’re exploring some possibilities of concerts or events that might not be just youth focus, but would probably have a youth flavor to it. We’re working with some club organizers and others and there will be more information coming.”
Arwady added that the city is working on another vaccine-related initiative called “Vax and Relax” that could provide special offers for people who’ve already gotten their shot.
Yeah—I think the big picture is that the politicians lie to us about hundreds if not thousands of things—so even if I knew nothing about the disease or the vaccines—their endorsement is a waving red flag.
They rushed to make millions of vaccines...Now they have to bribe, threaten, force or offer incentives so people will take the needle!
I find this very odd.
This kind of stuff just makes you not want to get vaccinated.
They are defeating what they say they want.

Vax pass=citizen ID=the camel’s nose. Meanwhile, minorities are still considered too stupid, lazy and shiftless to get voter ID’s.

Good to see someone thinking Biblically. I find it sad the most common response to getting the jab is ( reasons people gave me),” I can go on vacation, I can go to bars, I can go to sporting events, I can go to spring break”......not sure if anyone will catch it except for stout believers. America is lost, given to their own desires....
Can I ask a stupid question? Isn’t it against the law, or against HIPAA type regulations, to be forced to reveal specific individual health information for these everyday activities?
And in spite of people like Jen Psaki saying that the Biden administration is not pursuing vaccine passports, and that the federal government won’t be involved with them, here we see a local government in Chicago being directly involved. So isn’t it a fact that government WILL be involved with vaccine passports?
Sorry, that’s more than one stupid question. But I think we can see what direction we are headed.
New York’s rollout was a disaster. Out of state vaccinations didn’t get recorded in the system. Getting a shot early in the rollout meant it didn’t count. Getting test results in time to be logged meant getting the test in a narrow six hour window the day you wanted to attend an event.
