CHICAGO (CBS) — Next month, the city of Chicago will offer “Vax Passes.”
The pass will allow vaccinated people to attend certain concerts and events. More details on how it works are expected in the next few weeks.
Asked about the city’s “Vax Pass” initiative, Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the city is “constantly looking at ways in which we can incentivize folks to get the vaccine.”
“We’re going to be looking at ways in which we can incentivize people to get vaccinated, and do that by looking at preferred seating, preferred admission. So that’s still very much a work in progress, and we’ll have more to say on that in the coming days,” she said.
The mayor said vaccinations among the city’s Black population are still lagging behind every other demographic.
“So we really need – particularly 18 to 44, where we’re seeing the lowest uptake – we need you to get vaccinated. Do it, of course, for yourself; but for your family, for your grandparents,” Lightfoot said. “There’s plenty of opportunity now all over the city to get vaccinated for free – let me emphasize that, for free. So don’t be a bystander. Get in the game. Get yourself vaccinated.”
On Tuesday, Doctor Allison Arwady, head of the Chicago Department of Public Health, said the “Vax Pass” is another way to convince people to get the COVID shot.
“Younger people in particular may be excited about the idea of getting into events for example that might be limited to people who are vaccinated,” Arwady said. “So we’re exploring some possibilities of concerts or events that might not be just youth focus, but would probably have a youth flavor to it. We’re working with some club organizers and others and there will be more information coming.”
Arwady added that the city is working on another vaccine-related initiative called “Vax and Relax” that could provide special offers for people who’ve already gotten their shot.
“Please show your Mark.”
This is almost amusing.
First they try talking to the herd with “experts” and “leaders”.
Now they are offering goodies if the herd moves in the correct direction.
The cattle prods are next.

You are not supposed to think—you are supposed to obey, citizen.
The plan is getting kinda obvious.
I’m as pro-vaccine as anyone, but this passport cr@p is as anti-American as it gets.
Free people don’t need permission to be free in a free country.
The push to get all young people jabbed is just getting creepy and suspicious.
Jab does not prevent you from getting covid.
That means you get it and you can spread it.
It lessens the symptoms which means young people are even less likely to know they even have it.
How is this protecting older people?
What is the point of this jab?

I avoid IL as it is.
I know you don’t believe this applies to the current vaccines, but imagine a future vaccine with very nasty long term side effects.
Then imagine a .gov that tries pressuring people to get it...

That’s not incentive. It’s coercion or blackmail.
That age range is also the normal range for childbearing.
I'm not getting the vaccine BECAUSE of the government's involvement and insistence and coercion.
I don't trust any of the government agencies or politicians or bureaucrats who have been lying to us about covid from the beginning. The same ones who have been manipulating the numbers and changing their mandates and misleading the public.
The vaccines are as worthless as masks to prevent the transmission of the virus anyway, according to the WHO. So what's the point?
Wanting to be first in line to get an experimental vaccine that continues to produce unknown sides effects but doesn't have much benefit in stopping the viral disease for which there is a 99.8% survivorabilty rate already, is just another example of the mass hysteria by a public who will stay locked in their homes if told to do so by some government politician or bureaucrat.
If a private company were pushing a product or drug, that's legitimate marketing, publicity and advertising. I can choose to buy or not.
But if the government is trying to push this vaccine off onto the public under threat of vaccine passports and requirements to work and even to attend "concerts or other events" like this example in Chicago, there is something nefarious and most likely some evil afoot.
If the government insists I get the vaccine, I will balk and do the exact opposite. Their negative campaign to vaccinate everyone is having the wrong effect.

I completely agree. We, as free people must be trusted to use our best judgment. The reduced risk of contracting COVID for myself and especially my wife greatly outweighed any small risk the vaccine may have. Others that feel differently and accept the heightened risk of a bout of COVID by not being vaccinated are and should remain free to do so.
We can’t all fit in Florida.
Maybe freedom-loving Americans should band together and buy ourselves another state.
One where we outlaw crap like this and have punch card voting machines.
