Has it been unseasonably warm by you? That would cause them to bolt sooner than normal. How about water? Are they getting enough water? If they are stressed and think they’re dying, they would bold sooner to try to set seed to get the ‘next generation’ started before they think they’re going to die.

March and April have been cold. Not much rain; but everything is green. The stalks are over two feet high. Only difference from last year is I put down a healthy coat of cow manure.
