First year of retirement only tv I watch is Gunsmoke (Miss Kitty still looks good) and The Rifleman, both great shows regarding doing the right thing and how you have to fight bad folks.
My late father did the same not long after retirement. A debilitating disease left him chair-bound, so he spent his hours watching Gunsmoke. We never watched it growing up, so I assume the episodes were new to him.
Drove Mom crazy, but Dad was happy.
The Rifleman and Gunsmoke are my absolute all time favorites. The acting, especially James Arness, is magnificent.
