The Second Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, also known as the Lancer Brigade, recently showed off the night vision capabilities of the Enhanced Night Visions Goggle-Binoculars (ENVG-B) on Twitter...

The goggles, which the Army developed with L3 Warrior Systems, are designed to provide a sharper night vision image than previous-generation goggles. The dual-tube setup provides a larger field of view than earlier goggles, leading to greater situational awareness and increased depth perception.

“Kinda like TRON.”

That was my first thought, too. On a side note, I was at my son-in-law’s house last weekend and he put the video game Call of Duty on his 85” TV. The graphics were absolutely stunning. Video games have come a long way since I played Pong.

Yeah.

But an EMP weapon doesn’t discriminate between friendly or enemy electronics (or military vs civilian electronics, for that matter). So unless you’ve got some way to issue a warning AND protect the electronics, you will do as much damage to yourself as the enemy.

Here’s a scary thought. What if you had a directional EMP weapon that only did one thing: set off the primers in small arms ammunition? Range would be dependent on weapon size and power supply.

Hmmm...
