The governmental response to the Coronavirus is the most egregious affront to American liberty and freedom that I have seen in my lifetime. Of course abortion is much worse than this, but I am excluding it because abortio was largely the action of courts as opposed to the action of elected officials. The analogy of the boiling frog doesn’t even apply here. It is said that if you put a frog in boiling water it will jump out but if you slowly change the temperature until it boils it will never notice the temperature change and die. With the Coronahoax however, we essentially have the frog jumping into the boiling water and deciding it loved it - the people had their rights removed quickly and they decided they loved it for a year now.

Flubros have a variety of stances on vaccines. The only view that leads to an onslaught of pushback is to make vaccines mandatory. Yes I criticize the US government and various state governments...you ask do I criticize China’s government? I don’t really criticize them very much at all. What would I gain by directing my ire at them? China is a piece of trash for a country. But I do like it when the USA makes money trading with China and that opinion might separate me from some other Freepers.

Not that you asked, but not everything is financial. This COVID-thing is ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATING world finances. It is destroying even more than that, too, and this is both inside and outside the US.
There is a copycat thread that includes the phrase “the butcher’s bill”...that thread stokes fear of Coronavirus while this thread minimizes the lethality of the coronavirus as a virus in addition to opposing impositions on liberty.
And what you may find funny, is that I can agree with them both, to an extent.
I would sure like to see an explanation of the origins and motivations of all this, from either perspective, too.
It amazes me that two jerk-offs named Woodward and Bernstein, became so famous as “investigative journalists” for sitting around on their butts and waiting for missives from a disgruntled government employee.
I would think revelation of the origins of our situation would be the story of the millennia.

We are right to minimize the official numbers (lethality) because the official numbers ARE bogus. They are, and it’s as simple as that.
I also would posit that if the media and their cohorts talked about how many people got sick or died from other causes, people would remain too afraid to leave their houses.
Pathogens constantly surround us. God built us with wonderful bodies that if we just take care of them, we will minimize our illnesses for the most part. Of course, there are exceptions to this.
For MOST people SARS-CoV-2 is similar to a bad cold or a flu. We never shut down for any other pathogen we’ve encountered before, none of them. Quite simply, this was political theater designed to get Trump out of office, and it worked, because massive amounts of states had widespread mail in balloting, an easy source for fraudulent ballots.
The way we have treated, or should I say not treated, CoVid19 in the early stages of the disease is yet another reason so many have succumbed unnecessarily. It is beyond despicable what the FearBros and the media have done to our country. Abominable. Disgusting.
My county’s long term care facilities did a decent job of keeping covid out last spring. Not so much during the fall surge. We had a big surge in deaths. My theory is their immune systems were shot from being in lockdown for 7 to 8 months.

I have a sister who was terribly afraid of CoVid, to the point that she rarely went outside, even in her own backyard. At first they had all groceries delivered. Then after months on end, her husband finally went to the grocery store sometimes. What happened the first time he went out? He got a little cold, under the weather type illness that lasted a day.
Finally, after 10 months, almost 11, my sister went out, as she had her first dose of the vaccine. She went to get her hair cut at the salon. Guess what happened? She got quite sick for almost 10 days. Body aches, fever, cough, sore throat. She was tested for strep throat, the flu, and SARS-CoV-2. All were negative. So she asked the doctor what she thought, and the doctor told her that she figured she got sick from a run-of-the-mill virus because her body couldn’t fight the regular pathogens. So I think your idea has merit.
I take daily morning walks in the neighborhood. A while back I saw an older lady that wore a mask to pickup the paper from the driveway. If they just watch the local news and read the paper, they probably are scared @#$%less.
I’m happy to report that now that she has had her vaccines, and so have most of her family, that she FINALLY had a family event at Easter which warmed my heart so much. She is starting to venture back out to stores a little. Her children have been mostly the ones injecting this fear into her, but because they watch the drive by media. She tries to tell me that she listens to me, but I know my words have little impact on her.
The virus was manmade and came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
And not a single person is doing a damn thing about it.
My mom’s bridge group only took a break for a few weeks during the late fall outbreak. My dad still works part time.
My point is that any viral “weapon” can’t beat the greatness of the human immune system, when viewed globally. It is actually even hard to characterize Wuhan Flu as a weapon because a weapon is targeted...a virus like the Coronavirus affects all humanity sort of equally, the big difference is how stupidly some countries are at attempting to “manage” the situation.
