The raid on Rudy

This unexpected maneuver was undertaken despite the fact that it came in the midst of cooperative on-going conversations with Giuliani’s attorney.

At some point in the 1980’s, when Rudy Giuliani was a US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, my mother went with a friend to hear him talk at a local meeting. She came home enormously impressed. The speaker, she reported, was not all that good-looking, but he was a real “comer.”

As always, mother was right. After an unsuccessful run for New York City’s mayor in 1989, Giuliani was finally elected to that office in 1994 – and then reelected in 1998. At the end of his second term, he found himself fortuitously in the right place at a terribly wrong time, effectively able to aid and bolster the stunned, bewildered people of his city after the 9/11 attack.

SNIP

But in the intervening years, it has become political sport to turn the tables of affection on Rudy Giuliani. Originally a Democrat, he had over the years become a highly-regarded Republican, at one time aspiring to the presidency. But now, solely by dint of his affiliation with Donald J. Trump, he is regarded by Democrats as a “traitor” to the nation. That is a serious charge, but “words matter” to Democrats only when it suits their purposes.

To emphasize the danger the Biden administration associates with this septuagenarian, this week his apartment in New York City was forcibly entered by FBI agents, who seized whatever electronic devices they could get their hands on. This unexpected maneuver was undertaken despite the fact that it came in the midst of cooperative on-going conversations with Giuliani’s attorney concerning the charges against him.

The never Trumpers were probably tipped off about the raid. Maybe that’s why they had their meeting without Trump. They’re not the least bit interested in the rake, Hunter. They’re after Trump.

Good grief!
For years, folks have chastised Trump for “tweeting” too much. Now, after a bit of radio silence, you’re giving up because he doesn’t go public with his every move?
The guy has learned to work with a little less fanfare, so now he has abandoned us?
I give him much more credit than that. He’s a patriot, and they don’t abandon ship.

And what exactly according to you, was he supposed to do, refuse to leave? They took every case to court and got screwed by SCOTUS. His party as usual, refused to fight and half heartedly challenged the results of the election. Pence cut his knees off with the letter on the day of the certification. Was he supposed to declare martial law and not leave? The military and the Pentagon were actively undermining him as well. Just curious how you think Trump abandoned us after January 6th?

Feds Raid Rudy Giuliani Apartment, Seize Electronic Devices – It’s The Corrupt DOJ FARA(951) Angle All Over Again

April 28, 2021 | Sundance

According to media reports federal authorities raided the New York apartment of Rudy Giuliani today.  Apparently electronic devices were seized as part of their investigation into him.  However, the DOJ motive behind the investigation is something everyone should be familiar with, Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).

The corrupt and political agents at the DOJ, led by attorney Andrew Weissmann, have used FARA(951) violations to target their political opposition.  They attempted, and in some instances successfully used, FARA investigations and prosecutions against Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, Walid Phares and others.

Former DOJ official Andrew Weissmann ran the FARA division of the DOJ-NSD specifically to use this approach as a political weapon.  However, notice he never went after any Democrats who were well documented to be lobbying while unregistered for foreign governments.  The Podesta brothers were two notorious lobbyists who were not registered and the DOJ looked the other way.

FARA violations being used as a backdoor justification for political targeting has long been the approach of a weaponized DOJ.  They are using that same tactic again in their effort to target Rudy Giuliani.

New York – Federal investigators in Manhattan executed a search warrant on Wednesday at the Upper East Side apartment of Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who became President Donald J. Trump’s personal lawyer, stepping up a criminal investigation into Mr. Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine, three people with knowledge of the matter said.

One of the people said the investigators had seized Mr. Giuliani’s electronic devices.

Executing a search warrant is an extraordinary move for prosecutors to take against a lawyer, let alone a lawyer for a former president, and it marks a major turning point in the long-running investigation into Mr. Giuliani.

The federal authorities have been largely focused on whether Mr. Giuliani illegally lobbied the Trump administration in 2019 on behalf of Ukrainian officials and oligarchs, who at the same time were helping Mr. Giuliani search for dirt on Mr. Trump’s political rivals, including President Biden, who was then a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The United States Attorney’s office in Manhattan and the F.B.I. had for months sought to secure a search warrant for Mr. Giuliani’s phones. (read more)

It’s likely they struggled to get a search warrant because it is well known that Guiliani was not lobbying for Ukraine, but rather communicating with Ukraine officials about the corruption of the Biden Family and Hillary Clinton through the Ukraine government.

Giuliani was publicly informing everyone of his contacts and findings, and that included the White House.  That’s not lobbying; that was his job as Trump’s counsel during the ridiculous impeachment effort.

Thank you for recognizing that we are now a police state.

I say this to people that react with blank stares.

He didn’t fight. He had 80 million MAGA patriots standing behind him ready to join a MAGA Party and to fight for our constitution, culture, economy and way of life. On 1/7 the total complicity in the coup by the GOP was laid bare for all to see. What did Trump do? He stuck with the Uniparty (R) and all the DC swampers who destroyed MAGA. Now Trump and the movement are history. Trump wields all the power the few thousand RSBN viewers give him. You are as foolish as Trump in thinking you were going to reform anything from within the uniparty(R). Won’t you ever understand, the Uniparty (R) IS the swamp. Are you happy living in the American Soviet? Wouldn’t you have preferred to fight with the new MAGA Party?

Ha! Ha! Ha! That’s so ridiculous it doesn’t even merit a reply. This is just him “working with a little less fanfare”. Thanks for the laugh.

Of course race agitator Gayle King led with this, but still silent on Kerry’s alleged treason. Then they went to the story about Putin jailing his political enemies, they aren’t smart enough to draw the comparison.

You won’t find a braver more patriotic man than General Flynn. You saw him cave when the state came for his son. I understand that Trump probably did this to protect his family. Unfortunately, we both know Trump and his family are still very much at risk. Trump should have known not to trust these bastards. Trump is still a minor threat and will be dealt with. I doubt they let his family go either. Trump should have fought with everything he had, including a MAGA Party alternative.

You do know he is banned by the Twitters, Facebook, YouTube right?

You do realize even posting a video of him gets people banned, right?

Every election case brought to court(s) was tossed out?

Is your memory so short?

Rolled over without a fight? It was the republicans that rolled over without a fight even after the decades long injunction had finally expired regarding elections. Good grief! The Republican Party had no plan of attack post facto of the injunction!

Life goes on whether we like it or not. I’m hoping some
of the corruption can be exposed/verified in some manner
that has legal consequences. Now whether actions needed
to change things are yet to be seen.

In today’s electronic society it is much easier to change
things than in days past when things were basically on
paper. jmo

Yeah, all that stuff you spoke of, that’s what he was supposed to stop by fighting. You blame the republicans, what the hell is Trump? He is banging on the door trying to get back into the party that ruined him and the country. I suppose you’re still stooging for the Uniparty (R) as well. How about taking you, me, every non troll Freeper and 80 million other patriots and forming the MAGA Party and saving the country? I guess that would be too radical, it was for Trump. With you guys it’s back to, send them money, take the house in ‘22, repeal Obamacare and Huzzah!
