Hot sauce an invaluable condiment for peppering up food that needs a splash of acid or heat, whether it’s soup, dip, or fried chicken. Hot sauce is also a good option if whatever you’re eating is boring or terrible. The culinary world features an entire rainbow of hot sauce, but one of the most divisive is Tabasco. It seems like either you’re a fan, or you hate it. No room for ambivalence here. So, what do you think? Are you a hater or a lover of Tabasco hot sauce? We present both arguments below.
Tabasco is good For a while, I decided I was not a fan of Tabasco sauce. It was mostly because everyone around me said how much they hated it, so I went with the flow. Peer pressure is real. But recently I got to thinking about how much I missed going to a diner for things like a late breakfast. When I go to a diner, I’m not really a pancake or waffle person, I’m more of an egg breakfast person. Omelets, eggs Benedict, skillets, you name it—I prefer that kind of stuff. And it all gets me reminiscing about things like those possibly ancient stacks of single-serve jellies and hot sauce caddies on the table.
While I like Cholula, which is usually in those caddies, the more I think about it, the more I realize that I almost always reach for Tabasco sauce. I really like some form of acid in my food, otherwise it feels kind of plain to me. And that’s why I like Tabasco. The acid thing seems to be the main complaint (that and the fact that it’s kinda watery).

SUPERIOR AND ITS 99C!
Salsa Huichol.
Not too much vinegar or salt.
Standard flavor is real good but I like the hotter habanero version.
Don’t know there is one hot sauce for everything. I use Tabasco Red to add some heat to chili, eggs and certain soups, Tabasco Green for other items.
I have a local store brand Caribbean Mango Scotch Bonnet I use on salads due to fact it’s slightly sweet. I use Gringo Bandito when I want to add more flavor plus some heat because it’s only medium hot and I can use a lot of it. I’ve got an imported Mexican Chili Habanero sauce that’s very hot also with excellent flavor. All told I’ve got at least 5 bottles of different types on the table.
sorry mcilhenny yer hot sauce is lame even if you age it in oak barrels
its cayennes in vinegar with salt..
Don’t know there is one hot sauce for everything.
Certainly not.
A favorite in my family is candied bacon with brown sugar and Franks.
However, for heat with just a hint of flavor, THIS WINS.
Yes, Sriracha is another well-balanced sauce.
Frank’s is the best for wings. Tabasco is great in jambalaya. Others to splash on foods. I couldn’t get by with just one
Fn’ A...Petes is my top pick.
Tabasco isn’t palatable.
Tabasco Green is good, but I don’t keep nor use the red. It’s unpalatable.
On a rare occasion with no other choice I may put one or two drops on eggs but that’s about it.
Restaurants that serve it no nothing about hot sauce and the people who love and crave it.
1% of the people use 99% of the hot sauce.
That is good stuff if you want garlic.
Not so much on Mexican food but I love it on Asian style stir fry.
Franks is pretty good but Texas Petes rules.
Franks is less sweet and good for wings and cold Pizza.
Cholula reds and green are very, very, good. My #2 pick.
Tobasco is Gubment Hot Sauce.
Chrystal is good. I don’t see it in stores anymore.
I like the Instant Insanity and Ghost Pepper products. I have to place a link here because the bottle images are copyrighted and protected from linking.
