India is all about the bureaucracy and our media is learning scaremongering from their media.
India had huge Covid problems over 6 months ago, but they weren’t counting all the bodies. Their media wasn’t reporting it back then, so you have to ask, why now?
Now that the US numbers are coming down rapidly, India appears to be publishing the real numbers to get our extra vaccines.
Americans should believe almost nothing that comes out of the Indian media.
Indian cities have two or three hundred dead bodies in the streets every day, regardless. The cities are massively crowded, housing is horrible, and the general health of the population is terrible. Why did Mother Teresa begin her work there? Because she found a sick old woman who had simply been left in the street to die, a common practice, and she decided she couldn’t ignore it anymore and step over the body (the way Indians do) ,and thus was her work begun.
So you have to factor this into the covid “statistics.” I doubt that much has changed. It’s just getting publicity now.
