My instincts are always to be on the side of law enforcement, to give them the benefit of the doubt. But things like laughing at injuring an old lady sure makes it tough at times...

I use to be like you, but I’ve experienced abuse by an officer when I was targeted for out of the area plates. My brother is Police Lieutenant, I respect law enforcement, but when we allow unqualified individuals to be placed in positions of authority, things like this happen. One has to wonder where this ladies lived ones are? Is she being left unsupervised?

This is what the citizenry gets when budgeting prioritizes pensioners and diversity.

Money isn’t going to hire good talent and keep it.

It’s going to pay people who aren’t working, and then to hire people who are happy to do anything for a paycheck with what’s left.

“things like laughing at injuring an old lady sure makes it tough at times...”

It should make it impossible. There’s no excuse for what these men did. If a grown man can’t subdue a 73 year old woman without dislocating her shoulder he needs to find a different job. And to laugh about injuries you’ve inflicted is JUST SICK.

Not all cops are good, some are maniacs unsuited for the job. Like these guys, all of whom belong in prison or the ground.

We used to see a cop, a middle-aged white guy, directing traffic by our office. I suppose he resented the duty because he behaved like a madman the entire time. yelling at drivers, pedestrians, passers by. It was truly frightening to think the man was armed.

“My instincts are always to be on the side of law enforcement, to give them the benefit of the doubt.”

Before this BLM crap, I was actually pretty down on cops. My overwhelming experience is that far too many cops are bullies that let the authority go to their heads. I’m a 69 year old suburbanite and I have never gotten to experience the police “protect and serve” - it’s always been traffic cops hassling me over small things like an expired inspection sticker or something. I got a few speeding tickets when I was younger - I wasn’t hot rodding or drag racing - I thought I was going the right speed and failed to notice the reduced speed limit sign. Or a yellow light was shorter than I expected. Stuff like that. The cops are almost never act in a normal friendly manner - even though you go out of your way to act super submissive - it’s rarely enough - usually they act all cocky and unnecessarily mean.

Two of my brother’s kids are cops, so I’ve always have to be somewhat careful about making that generalization.

But since BLM I’ve taken Trump’s lead and dropped any criticism I had of LE. There is zero institutional racism that I can see. They certainly aren’t arresting or shooting people because they are black! They are getting a bum rap on the racism score.

So that’s where I stand. I have my criticisms of LE, but it has nothing to do with race.

I think it has more to do with personality types. Too many of the people who are attracted to that profession just seem to be control freaks that like to boss other people around. Becoming a cop gives them the chance to do just that and get paid to do it. Certainly not all - but far too many.

Why? What other government entities do you treat this way?

Honestly, that's the easy way out.

My instinct is to be on the side of my fellow citizens and the law.
