SpaceX team elected to have the crew don their pressure suits out of an abundance of caution.

Uh, there was no time to do an avoidance maneuver but there was time to "don their pressure suits"?

The only avoidance maneuver is probably a return to Earth. It isn’t an episode of “Men Into Space”. I expect it would take a lot of fuel to radically change their course and still meet the space station. Then there would be no return option if something really did go wrong.

That’s what they said. Exactly how long does it take to calculate and initiate an avoidance maneuver with that ship and what was the likelihood of success given the vectors of both objects?
