A North Carolina official was removed from his position Tuesday for refusing to refer to a black woman using her doctoral title during a virtual meeting.
Tony Collins, a construction contractor and former member of the Greensboro City Council’s Zoning Commission, was ousted by a unanimous city council vote for ignoring Carrie Rosario’s request to call her “Dr. Carrie Rosario,” according to the Greensboro News and Record.

Something tells there is way more to this than what the article is saying. And looking at the picture, at least 4 of the 6 are on, Team Dr Carrie. Very uppity and bougie of Dr Carrie to act this way, but when it's 5 on 1, I guess she can be.
And given the fact that our FLOTUS is a Doctor(ha ha ha ha) this will be the norm.
I've never been on a meeting like this, but a friend of mine is a police lieutenant in a nearby city. Had to sit through a class on this new phenomena where you introduce yourself and then tell everyone in the room how you would like to be addressed. A mutual friend joked that she should have said....Hello, I"m ----- and my preferred pronouns are Your Majesty and Your Highness.
This ideology and those that push it are insane. And it will not be remedied through voting for Republicans and gaining control of the White House, Senate or House of Representatives.

As a social scientist, my philosophy of research and practice is guided by principles of health equity, which is social justice in health. Several formative cross-cultural and international experiences have served as catalysts for the development of my early research interests related to tobacco control and the inequitable socio-environmental contexts which disadvantage communities.
In congruence with my philosophy, my current research and practice identify and advocate policy, systems, and environmental strategies to address root causes of racial/ethnic and socioeconomic health disparities. Specifically, my work toward health equity is focused in two main areas:
Tobacco-related Health Disparities (TRHDs)
Relationships between place and health

Slightly Off Topic:
I was shopping online for a coffee cup. Suddenly, I’m wanting to drink coffee on a regular basis.
I saw one cup that said “Ask Me About My Pronouns!”
The letters were in ‘all the colors of the rainbow’.
If I saw that cup on somebody’s desk or during a Zoom meeting, I would avoid that person. They are looking for a fight over their sexual identity. While, I don’t wish to give them any more that two seconds of thought regardless.
Means she’s a doctor of regulations that affect public health and doctors.
Yup.....Whoever hands out the PhDs realized that to deny her would have meant pitchforks, torches, ending up on the unemployment line and in court.
Give her the paper and let her become someone else’s problem.
